There are many solutions in the market to help people lose weight. The high demand for effective weight loss products, especially supplements, has resulted in a lot of scam products being marketed as genuine weight loss solutions. It is, therefore, not surprising that the first thought that comes to our mind when we are introduced to a new weight loss solution is the possibility that we are looking at the latest scam to hit the market. Garcinia Cambogia is also not an exception.
So Is Garcinia Cambogia A Scam?
Dr. Oz calls Garcinia Cambogia the holy grail of weight loss. There is ample evidence to show that this tropical fruit extract does work wonders when it comes to weight loss. Therefore, Garcinia Cambogia is not a scam. However, that does not mean that you still can’t get scammed. If you are not careful about what you are buying and where you are buying it from, you can get ripped off.
Concerns About Garcinia Cambogia Scams:
There are three main reasons why some people think that Garcinia is a scam:
1: Fly by night operators sell substandard products to capitalize on the popularity of Garcinia. The products they sell are neither of good quality nor do they contain the active substance HCA at the required strengths. Naturally, people who buy these supplements don’t experience the required weight loss.
2: Some fraudulent companies offer a sample pack of their product, but once the customer signs up for it, they keep charging their credit cards every month without sending the product or sending the product even though the customer has requested them to stop.
3: A small minority of Garcinia Cambogia users do not get the expected results.
Why Garcinia Works For A Vast Majority Of Users, But Does Not Work For Some:
In most cases in which people complain about Garcinia not working for them, you will see one of the following issues:
1: They are not taking the right product. They have either purchased a questionable brand or the product they use does not contain the 50% HCA concentration that is required.
2: They are not taking the right dosage. Some people take a low dosage, due to which, they don’t get the expected results. Others exceed the recommended dosage in their enthusiasm and end up experiencing side-effects after which they discontinue the supplement. It is important to stay in a dosage range that is effective and is within the recommended limits.
3: They are not following the instructions. All good brands give guidelines for taking the supplements. Some people also don’t drink enough water. HCA is water soluble and it is important to drink sufficient amounts of water while taking it. Water also helps the body eliminate toxins.
Beware Of Brands Claiming To Be Recommended By Dr. Oz:
Dr. Oz has recommended Garcinia as a highly effective weight loss supplement; however, he has not endorsed any particular brand. Therefore, he has warned viewers in his TV show that if they come across any brands which claim to be endorsed by him, they are scams in all probability.
The reason Dr. Oz has recommended Garcinia Cambogia as a weight loss solution is due to the research evidence that establishes its role in preventing fat accumulation in the body. Let us look at some studies that prove the effectiveness of Garcinia.
The Proof That Garcinia Cambogia Works:
1: In an eight week trial, forty patients were divided into two groups and one group was given Garcinia extract capsules (500 mg) before every meal. The other group got placebos. After the trial, it was observed that the group which got the active substance showed a marked improvement in their blood lipid profiles, especially triglycerides and cholesterol, when compared to the placebo group.
2: In another study on forty obese people over twelve weeks, it was observed that the treatment group lost three times the weight when compared to the placebo group with similar diet and exercise levels.
3: A similar study was done with HCA-SX 500 mg on 54 obese people. Again, the treatment group achieved about three times the weight loss as the control group.
4: Another study on sixty obese people established that weight loss as a result of taking HCA is mainly due to fat loss. It was also found that with a dose of 400 mg three times a day, the treatment group reported significant reduction in their appetite when compared to the placebo group.
5: In yet another study on 39 patients, the treatment group received 1000 mg of HCA daily. After 12 weeks, both groups received only placebos for four more weeks. It was found that there was no rebound weight gain in the treatment group, which suggests that the weight loss due to Garcinia is permanent as long as a healthy lifestyle is maintained.
Garcinia Cambogia is not a scam, but due to the popularity of this weight loss remedy spurious products may continue to be marketed to deceive people. That, in a way, confirms the demand for the product. It is possible to create demand by hyping up a supplement, but it is not possible to sustain that demand for a long time unless it really works.
The continued high demand for Garcinia Cambogia is actually one of the biggest endorsements for its effectiveness.
